Obituary, Shoreline Times Newspaper, Sunday, May 9, 1971 Whitney Thompson Dies at 73; Rites in Guilford Monday Guilford-Whitney J. Thompson Sr., husband of Mildred Norton Thompson of 82 State Street, died in Middlesex Memorial Hospital Friday. He was 73. Mr. Thompson was born May 7, 1898, son of the late Reuben and Mabel Clark Thompson in Durham. A retired construction worker, Mr. Thompson had lived in Guilford for the past 45 years. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Leon (Jean) Tomlinson of Orange and Mrs. Thomas (Doreen) Capezzone of Guilford; three sons, Whitney J. Thompson Jr., Donald N. Thompson and Duane D. Thompson, all of Guilford; and seven grandchildren. His funeral will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Hal Helms, pastor preciding. Buried at Alderbrook Cemetery. ***** Julius name came from uncle (father's brother) Whitney name came from civil war grandfather (mother's father). His grandfather Whitney P.
