a. Note:   just 6 weeks after his wife, Violet. It was said that he died of "a broken heart", having nursed Violet through her final illness. The hearse left 34 Linden Road, Reading, where they had lived, at 2.20 pm on 26th October for his funeral service at 2.30 pm at Christ Church and 3 pm at Henley Road. His brothers and sisters, Rose, Beat, Bert and Bill, attended the funeral.
Note:   Jim died in Sidmouth Ward of the Royal Berkshire Hospital on 21st October, 1967
