!RESEARCH NOTES OF DONNES JOENSEN FAMILY: Going back to the ancestry of Pernill Donnesdatter, her death record in 1897 identified that she was born in 1801 at the Bru farm in Velfjord Parish. Likewise, her second marriage in 1844 also identified that she was born at the Bru farm and identified her father as Donne Johnsen (sic).
The 1801 census of the Brue farm listed Donnes Jonsen living with his father, two nieces, and a widowed sister-in-law, apparently prior to his marriage.See Census Note above.
The farm maiden Christine Pedersdater aparently became the wife of Donnes Joensen not long after the above census was taken. Likewise Anne Clementsdatte married Jon Brynoldsen not long after the above records. In subsequent records Christine Pedersdatter was listed as Christiane Pedersdater. Their marriage took place in Velfjord Parish on January 1, 1802 (FHL #0125062; Vol. 10; 1752-1819; p.152).
The christening records just prior to their marriage and up through 1827 were checked and 10 children were found born to this couple, all born at the Bru farm:
