Wilson listed 1860 Douglas Co was John/James Wesley, oldest son of James A and Margaret, probably the Westly Wilson in Douglas Co Home Guards. Ozark Co MO 1850 census, 1860,1870 Douglas Co Mo Census, 1880 Wright Co Mo census. History of Douglas co Mo, James A Wilson was an early settler of Ozark Co Mo (later Douglas) there as early as 1847. James A Wilson operated a mill at Vera Cruz, first county seat of Douglas Co. First court proceedings were held at home of James A Wilson. James A Wilson was a member of Douglas Co Home Guards, later Co E Phelps Co MO Vol Inf. mustered out 1862, Springfield, MO, records of Norma (Coy) Tarbutton, GGGrandaughter of James A and Margaret (Carrico) Wilson. Wilson researcher, Tessie Miller (decendant of Charles R. Wilson) stated ina query, "James A. Wilson had these siblings: Zack Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson - wife of William butler, George Alexander Wilson, and William Wilson. Wilson's Mill located at the fork of Hunter and Bryand Creek, Vera Cruz, Douglas County, Missouri. About 1840 James Anderson Wilson Born 1799, Jefferson County, Kentucky and wife Margaret Carrico Wilson traveled from Greene County, Indiana to Missouri by covered wagon. They settled at what later became Vera Cruz the first county seat of Douglas County, where they owned and operated Wilson's Mill. This mill was sold to Josiah Henderson Elliott in mid 1870's. Josiah Elliott's third wife was Massey Catherine Wilson, a granddaughter of James A. and Margaret Wilson. Later operators of the mill were: Clarence elliott, grandson of Josiah Elliott; Dan Sloan; John Henderson; Jason Roy and Hiram Davis. . . info and photo provided by a gggrandaughter and gggrandson of James A. & Margaret Wilson . . . Aug. 1st, 1993. From Deanna Vale February 1999: Alexander and Nancy Wilson did have a son, probably their firstborn by the name of James Anderson Wilson, Born October 15, 1799, in Woodford Co., KY. Death date is February 4, 1890. He supposedly had three wives and at least 13 children. The family path as I know it is KY>IN>MO>AR.
