Notes
a. Note:   The 1871 census for Carleton County, Wicklow Parish, shows: Hovey, Allen m 60 FC Baptist Dutch Farmer George m 18 This means that Allen would have been born in 1810/11, but is probably our Allen. Since his wife, Lydia Anne, died in 1866, Allen, and George, are the only ones living on the farm. (I can't explain the "Dutch" origin reference - Bill Reid) NEWSPAPER SOURCES There are about 30 volumes of articles from New Brunswick newspapers, organized by year and indexed by people's names. They are located at the Provincial Archives, Univ. of New Brunswick, Fredericton.
