Note:   The 1871 census for Carleton County, Wicklow Parish, shows: Hovey, Allen m 60 FC Baptist Dutch Farmer George m 18 This means that Allen would have been born in 1810/11, but is probably our Allen. Since his wife, Lydia Anne, died in 1866, Allen, and George, are the only ones living on the farm. Deacon HOVEY, age 70, uncle (cousin ? wcr) of Dr. E. L. HOVEY of this village. He will be buried Thursday, exactly one week after Deacon MILLER
