Note: Ruth was born in Wayland. Later moved to Honeoye where her father tried to be a farmer. The family later moved back to Wayland. She had an older sisters Dorthy and Aunt Syrena who taught school in Wayland. She graduated from Wayland High School. She started nursing school in Rochester and then changed her studies to be a dental assistant. After her marriage to Jack, she moved to 221 Oliver St., Jersey Shore, Pa. They moved to 140 Church St. Odessa, N.Y. on March 15, 1946. She worked in Letteer Brothers Red & White Grocery Store for a short while. She was a home maker for many years. She worked in the school cafeteria for a few years and later was a switchoard operator for Odessa Telephone Co. before it went to dial. She started working at the old Schuyler Hospital as a switchboard operatorand later moved to the new hospital on the hill. They build a new home at 2051 Gano Road, Montour Falls in 1970. She got sick in the spring of 1976 and was diagnosed as having colon cancer which spread to her liver. She died on October 30, 1976 two days after her 65th birthday.
