Note: ose early years were spent at sea. He marreid 1st, 1738, Mary Wheat, and settled in Leominster, Mass. She bore him sixteen children and died in childbirth, 1767, at Ashby, Mass. He married 22nd, 1768, ar Merrimack, Hillsborough, N.H., Lucretia Seavy, who bore him four children, and died 1776. He married 3rd at Amherst, Hillsbrorough, N.H., 1778, Abigail Gilbert, who bore him three children. He died 20 Nov 1793, in that part of Amherst now constituting Mount Vernon. In her declining years his widow lived with her son Isaac Stearns in Littleton, Grafton, N.H., where she died, 6 Dec 1830, over 90 years of age. No accurate date as to the births and deaths of his first twenty children is at hand, six of whom died in infancy without a name. Following is probably the correct order of the births, of those named,of this numerous family.
