Notes
a. Note:   Robert Wade applied for a free passage to South Australia on the seventeeth of November 1837. Robert was nineteen, a gardener and single. He gave his address as 49 Cockrane Terrace, (the only Cockrane I can find is in London), which was propably a lodging house as several other people of that address applied for free passage on the same day.
They were - Thomas Jacques, single, age 24, stonemason, Ann Jacques, age 28, married with two children, (her husband was already in South Australia), William Newman, single, age 21, stonemason and Mary Ann Wade age 15, laundry maid, single.
Mary Ann may have been Robert's sister (he named one of his daughters Mary Ann), but it seems that Mary Ann never embarked, as I can't find any reference to her in the records.
