Note: Obituary: NANCY JOSEPHINE RECTOR Nancy Josephine Rector, one of twelve children born to the union of James and Nancy Moss Mitchell, was born at Belle, Missouri on November 5, 1882 and passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis County on Tuesday, August 10, 1971 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 5 days. Mrs. Rector was known to all as a kind, loveable and softspoken lady who had been a loving wife, a devoted mother and a trusted neighbor. While it would be impossible to innumerate her many virtues. all of us present know her many splendid traits and we are certain that Almighty God was also aware of His servant and will judge her according to her works. Grandma Rector, as we lovingly knew her, was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Rector and by her sons, Ezra Gieck and Cornell Stewart and by all of her brothers and sisters. Those who remain to mourn her passing are: two granddaughters, Josephine Dotson and Anne Marie Stewart. Surviving also are her great-grandchildren, her step-children, her step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and step- great-great grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and her many friends. Mrs. Rector was in state at the Hoener Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri where services for her were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 1971, Reverand Oliver Mullen officiating. The sacred hymns were in solo by Audrey Ove, who was accompanied by Mary Sue Hoener. Interment was in Bacon Cemetery with Tonkey West, H.G. Steenburgen, Lawrence Bechter, Marvin Rector, Ben Kettelhake, and Norman May serving as pallbearers.
