Note: her lineage. In the SS death register, her birthday is listed as 3-12-1889, and her death as 2-1986. I have entered the dates my mother remembers. Her last residence was listed as 48088 which I think was Walled Lake. There is an assisted living facility there, and I do know that she lived in an apartment there just before she died. She outlived all of her siblings and both of her children. My father Harry, died on 3-10-84 just two days before her birthday. Her daughter Jeanne died when she was only seven. She was a healthy child who all of a sudden came down with a fever and died the next week. My mom thinks it was strep., a bacterial infection for which a cure was found about two years later. Margaret took the death of her daughter very hard. Margaret grew up on a farm in Pittsville, Mass. She told this ghost story from her childhood: Her youngest brother fell out of the hayloft in the barn and died shortly thereafter. They had a two story farmhouse, and they would frequently hear a rocking chair rocking by itself in an upper room. Her mother struggled to keep the family together on the farm. We don't know what happened to the father. Her siblings, Lou (William Louis, Christopher, and Belle also migrated to Detroit and they all lived in Highland Park. She was in her early 20's when she married Harry. It was her only marriage. The met at Henry Ford Hospital. She was on the switchboard and he was the maintenance man.
