Note: Charles J. Fannon) when he got drafted into the Army and needed his birth certificate. Apparently Grandmother Grace wanted Charles J. and Papaw Charlie wanted Ival Thomas. Well we see who won in the end. Charles' SSN is 225-30-5141. Another amazing item is that his birth certificate lists the spelling of Grandfather Charlie's last name as Fannin and dad's spelling as Fannon. Hence all Fannon names preceeding Charles J. Fannon are now spelled Fannin throughout the Family tree. Around the small town of Inez, Floyd County, Kentucky there are about three hundred Fannins. Several counties Martin, Floyd, Pike, Johnson, and Lawrence, Kentucky have numerouse gravyards with Fannins. We belong there somewhere. After, Charles and Faye were married, he worked in the coal mines of Southwest Virgina. In 1954 There was a cave-in and one of his friends was killed. He promised Faye he would never work another day in the mines again. He packed up the family and moved to Michigan City, Indiana. He worked as an auto mechanic, electrician, machinist, and welder. He moved the family several times around the area, to Union Pier, Michigan, New Buffalo, Michigan, and LaPorte, Indiana before moving back to 10860 Pine Camp Road, Coeburn, Virginia about 1973.
