Note: Alias:<ALIA> Grandma /Dot/ Flora married George Hanson in Lincoln, Neb. in 1909 or 1910. One child, Louis Philip Hanson was born 24 Feb 1914 at Lincoln. They moved to Corpus Christi, Texas when Louis was about 3 months old. They lived there for 8 or 9 months at which time they moved to Oregon after returning to Nebraska for a visit of about a month. Ida (Maine) Parkinson (Mrs. Roy) had already taken a desert claim and moved to Christmas Valley, Oregon. They thought the hight dry air might help George Hanson, who had TB, called consumption at that time. Louis was about 18 months old, around August 15th, when they finally arrived in Oregon to settle at Christmas Valley. Ida and Roy had one daughter, Lois, moved to Portland sometime in 1916 and Roy Parkinson became a telegrapher. He was called to service during World War I and was killed in France. Their daughter Helen Ruth was born after he went in to service. Flora was a concert pianist and also played the organ. It was while being the organist for the Congregational Church that she met her husband, George. He was a soloist, baratone. Mrs. Lois Maine moved to Lincoln after her husbands death to beeter be able to support herself and children. She took in boraders for a while until the girls were out of school and could support themselves and herself. Flora lived at home for some time and gave piano lessons to help support them. She ws in her 30's when she was married and 37 when Louis was born. After moving to Paisley she also taught piano and played for many of the school functions, as well as church. She was the superintendent of the Sunday school (methodist) for several years. George and several other Paisley folks sang in a group for several years. They entertained at many affairs. Flora was the pianist. She gave lessons as late as the 1950's for the children at Paisley.
