  Obituary Rochester Post Bulletin Aug 4, 1964, page 6. Bert worked for the railroad many years ago and was now a retired farmer. Born 24 Aug. 1879 Adams Co., WI. Married Metta Jones at Byron 16 Jun 1910. Survived by a daughter Mrs. Louis (Leona) Frutiger of St. Paul Park, and an adopted daughter Miss Betty Joan Baker of Rochester. 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded him in death. Burial at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

  Olmsted County Democrat Newspaper 30 Jan. 1896 - Douglas - John Ottman, formerly "Black Jack", has returned from Dead Man's Gulch, Colorado and is engaged in "busting broncos" in this locality. He says his two pards, ACE BOYD and BURT BAKER were "held up" near Stoney Lonesome by 6 masked men and received of $200, a gold watch, two Smith and Wesson guns and pack of cards. No clue. The boys, well known here and their misfortune will be learned with sorrow.
