Note: Oral Histories by Geneva Maeve Lambert Grandpa Lambert [was] born in 1888 in Nebraska after the family moved there from New Jersey. He is the youngest of the children. The family eventually moved to California in the Nothern part. Grandpa baically worked in agriculture all his life with some few exceptions. He spent 3 years in Mexico and could speak Spanish. He met Grandma Lambert who was a school teacher until they married. I know they lived in Marysville, Yuba City, Merced, and Los Angeles (in the Whittier area) during the depression. A lot of relatives lived with Grandma and Grandpa during the depression. There are over 50 first cousins of my dad. Excerpts from Above The Lamberts reflect the happenings of the country during the time major events were taking place and as such are a part of the movement west, the wars, the agriculture so important to Californiaa. Grandpa Lambert was among the first to design and build a sprayer for the agriculture crops and of course helped spread all that insecticide that most of us dislike now.
