Note: Oral Histories by Geneva Maeve Lambert Grandma Lambert [was] born in 1888 in Selma, CA. She was a school teacher and had 2 yrs normal school for a teaching certificate. She taught until she married. She also played the piano and taught my sister and I to play elementary tunes. I loved Grandma the best because she always let us help her do whatever she was doing. Cooking, washing, making candy, etc. Many nights my sister and I stayed over night. Grandma was a very religious person but I never saw her go to church. She sewed on a tredle sewing machine and wouldn't get an electric [one]. Most of her brothers and sisters lived in the area. Aunt Phoebe (Grandma's sister) married Grandpa's brother Charles and they lived in Browns Valley. Her brother, Uncle Andrew lived in Live Oak and ran a dairy farm. I also knew uncle Lee who lived in Loma Rica and Aunt Nell who lived in Salinas (we visited them down there once). Grandma Lambert had 4 live births [some stillbirths maybe?] and three living children.
