a. Note:   Sister to Louisa, who was also married to Asaph Rice at the same time as Mary. Mary enjoyed the companionship of her sister Louisa and her Mother and Father in all her pioneer ventures. Their days in Providence were hard and sometimes dangerous. Mary buried a wee daughter in Sept. 1865 in Providence and soon was told of the proposed journey to a new place needing settlers, which was in No Mans Land, in Southern Utah.
