a. Note:   George Schreyer Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack: The Madelia community was shocked when it became known about town of the sudden and seemingly untimely death of George H. Schreyer, who passed away at his home here at 2:05 Tuesday morning, March 2, 1954, as the result of a heart attack that he suffered about 12:30 that same morning. The deceased, who would have been 51 years old next week, had been in his usual good health and at work right up to the time he was taken sick. George Herman Schreyer was born in New Ulm, Minn., March 14, 1903, and on August 24, 1931, he was married to Esther Johnson. He worked for the Western Union Telegraph Co. for 26 years as manager at the New Ulm office; also was district manager for several years. For the past six years he had been employed at the Feder Lumber Co. in Madelia. At the time of his death he was president of the Madelia Hospital Board. Surviving Mr. Schreyer are his wife; two sons, Tommy, 18, and Danny, 9, and a niece, Mrs. Archie Bolin Jr. of Winnebago. Two brothers and one sister died in infancy and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this Friday afternoon at Frieden's Evangelical church at New Ulm with Rev. F. R. Iseli, a friend of the deceased, officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery at New Ulm with Hugo Albrecht, Raymond Tomhave, Edw. Christensen, Phil Gunderson. Jos. Marturano and Ernest Jensen serving as casket bearers. Friends may call at the Gedtstad Funeral home at 224 So. Broadway at New Ulm after 3 o'clock Thursday.
