a. Note:   Review August 1, 1917. Mrs. Amelia T. Schreyer Mrs. Amelia Theresia Schreyer, widow of the late Carl C. Schreyer, died at the home of her son, John Schreyer, North Payne street, at 8:45 Wednesday evening, July 25. Mrs. Schreyer had been ill for several weeks, suffering from Kidney and liver trouble. Mrs Schreyer, whose maiden name was Amelia Theresia Koehler, was born in Raethgenstedt, Erfurt, Prussia, on September 9, 1837. She came to America with her parents in 1854, settling near Milwaukee. She was married there on January 1, 1856, to Mr Schreyer, the couple residing in Wisconsin until 1863, when they came to Brown county, making the journey by ox team. They settled on a homestead in the township of Cottonwood, where they remained until 1892, when Mr. Schreyer retired from farming and they removed to New Ulm to pass their declining years. Her husband died July 4, 1899, since which time Mrs. Schreyer has resided with her children, spending most of the time in this city. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. August Feder, Madelia; Mrs Gustav Schwanke, St. Clair, Minn; Carl, William, Herman and John Schreyer, Mrs. Adolph Falk, New Ulm; Otto Schreyer, Milford township. She is also survived by a sister at Paw Paw, Ill,; a brother at Osceola, Neb,; thirty five grand children and Two great grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the Friedens church, Rev Goerge Mayer officiating.
