Wesley and Louisa married in Greenwood, Sebastian Co, Center Twsp,AR. Have copy of marriage license. Married by J.W. Riggs, Justice ofthe Peace. Witnesses Sam and Kathy Worley and Josephine's parentsCharles W and Mary E Brandon Doug and Jo (as they were called by family members) lived inBelleville MO when first married. It was said he was part owner in asilver mine, along with two brothers. Brothers wanted to buy him outbut he declined until he overheard a conversation plotting to get ridof him so brothers were sole owners of mine - so he sold his portion. Left Missouri October 20, 1890, arriving at Blue Creek in OklahomaOctober 29, 1890. Shown 1900 Indian Territory Oklahoma Census - Tulsa area. Left OK 1905, returned to MO (Callaway). In later years when Wesleywas asked by a grandson if he was sorry he sold land in OK after allthe oil was discovered his response was, "No, he found some sucker tobuy his land - oil was getting in springs and killing livestock." Only resided in MO about a year. From family stories - evidently hestarted being bothered by arthritis. Doctor suggested going to CO(near Grand Junction) to some hot springs. After spending a shorttime there he liked it so well he wired Josephine to sell everythingshe couldn't transport on the train and bring the family to Colorado.So she saved some of the livestock and what furniture couldeconomically be moved and went to Alina, CO. In 1914 they moved to Arizona. They were in Chino Valley areaoriginally, then down to Salt River Valley, ending up over on theColorado River. They are shown on the 1920 Census in Yuma Co,Colorado River Indian Reservation (Parker). About 1920 they bought a ranch up near Kirkland, Arizona, living thereuntil 1938. Shown in the 1930 Yavapai Co, AZ voter registration.Wesley was 6' - weighed 160 lbs according to Yavapai Co VoterRegistration Records. Lived in Coolidge a short time after selling ranch in Kirkland thenmoved to northern California where they resided until Wesley's death.At that time Louisa returned to Arizona.
