a. Note:   Elmer never married - worked as cow hand all his life. Elmer served in WWI in the infantry. He entered service 27 May 1918,discharged 29 March 1919. Service No. 1417143. He served in Franceand was wounded - sent to England to a hospital. While on leave afterbeing released from hospital he visited Ireland. He returned toFrance for duty before being discharged. He was supposed to haveserved in an "all Arizona" company. Unable to get full militaryrecord - evidently burned in the fire in St. Louis which destroyedmany military records.
