a. Note:   Left, then later returned to Indpls., in the fall of 1880. From early church records, Marion County we find the following; First Baptist Church Records, Indpls., IN, By Miss Della Dearborn 1930, page 80, 'The First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, was organized September 21, 1822. The following persons were Charter Members; ...... Eliza McCormack, Samual McCormick, John McCormack...... The above John McCormack was the first White man to build a house in Indianapolis, in 1820. About 1890, the church which stood at the corner of Pennsylvania and New York Streets, burned and the early records were destroyed.'
Note:   Arrived with brothers John & James to build the 1st cabin on the White River.
