John Parrot arrived in the Colonies 10 Apr, 1623 on the Providence. He obtained a patent for land at Paraketo Point, Nanesmond Co, VA. John became a Quaker, but did not agree with all the customs of the congregation and caused much dissention. He traveled extensively trying to convert people. He even went to Rome in 1658 and tried to convert Pope Alexander VII. He was imprisoned while in Rome, reason unknown. In 1662 he emigrated to Barbados. Children of John and Prunella listed as Robert Parrott [no dates] and Richard Parrott b. 1616 in England. gives descendants of Richard daughter from is marriage to Elizabeth Thompson, Elizabeth Parrott born 1645 in Barbados. ALSO gives his parents as John Perrott b. 1527 in Haroldston, Pembrokshire, Wales and Sybil Jones. This parentage line goes back to 1170 for the Perrott and other lines are given also. NO sources or notes are given. I have downloaded a GEDCOM of this file.
