Note: JAMES MAGILL WILL PROBATE COURT OFFICE South Carolina 96 District In the Name of God, Amen. I, James Magill of the province and District aforesaid, being of sound memory Blessed be God, do this 8th day of Febr. 1779 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following: first, I commit my soul to God and my Body to be decently buried; and all my just debts to be paid. Item, I give unto my grandson, James Golding one tract of land containing 230 acres laying ona small branch of Little river adjoining lands laid out unto Christopher Neelly and William Lowrey, with two Negroes named Will & Wenn with all their future incress and I give unto my grandson, William Golding the plantation I now live on containing 150 acres also two Negroes named Moriah and Silvey with all their future incress. I give to my grandson; Anthoney Golding one trait of land containing 220 acres, laying on a small branch of Saludy River called Cane Creek with two Negroes named Jack and Joe. I also give to my three grandsons above named one tract of land containing 207 acres laying on a creek called Hoges Creek in Fredreck County, Virginia to be sold and equally devided between my three grandsons with all my household furniture, my stock of Horses, horned cattle, sheep and hogs, with my waggon and geers, plantation tools, my book accompts, notes and bonds and my part of the tobacco now pressed with all my moneys and al other things to be equally devided as aforesaid. I give to my son in law, Anthoney Golding, all the lands I have in South Carolina. The benefit of untill my three grandsons comes of age with the interestof all the monies arising from the sales of the above mentioned articles for the raising and schooling my three grandsons. And provided either of my grandsons should die without an heir his part to be equally devided between the other two grandsons. I also give to my grandson, James Golding one Negro girl named Dinna. I also give to my grandson William Golding, one Negro girl named Hannah. I give to my nephew, William Lowrey, all my wearing apparel. Nevertheless should my three grandsons die and leave no heirs, the three parts of my estate both real and personal to be sold and equally devided between my nephewes in Ireland and America, the other part to be given to my son in law, Anthoney Golding; and I do appoint my living friends Anthoney Golding, Robt. Cunningham, William O'Neal and Henry O'neal as my executors in trust for the intent and purposes in this my last will contained. James Magill (seal) Catherine X Johnson The last Will and Testament of James Magill of 96 District deceased, dated the 8th of Feb. 1779 was probated in the ordinary's office the 24th of August 1782, by John Johnson a subscribing witness the other witnesses George Cotts and Cathren Johnson, Anthony Golding executor qualified as such, the other executors Robert Cunningham, William Oneal and Henry Oneal not qualified (gone to the British). Letters of Tesmentory granted and warrant of appraisement, as determined (?) directed to John Wyld and William Moores to qualify Richard Griffen, Anthony Griffen, Richard Goling and John Johnson or any three of them as appraisers.
