  First marriage to Mary Elizabeth Blanchard, they were both living in Waitara. Edward started started out as a labourer. In the 1914 and 1919 Electoral Rolls he is listed as living in Hamlet St, Stratford, with occupation given as Baker. In 1931 he is listed as a salesman living at 166 Main St, Palmerston North, and from 1938 on at 74 Bourke St, Palmerston North. On his death certificate as a motor salesman. It is believed he was one of the first motor car salesman in New Plymouth.
  Second marriage to Ethel Harris in Palmerston North 10 years after Mary died.
  He died at home aged 62 years of Angina Pectoris, Chronic Myocarditis, and Hyperpieses. His doctor was E C Barnett. He was buried on 24 May 1948 at the Kelvin Grove Cemetery, PN, in plot 64 block 12.
