a. Note:   The 1820 Federal Census of Madison County, Illinois lists 3 boys and 6 girls. The Will of Titus Gragg recorded in Shelby County, Illinois did not list the other two sons. Since Titus had served in the War of 1812, his widow filed for his pension benefits after his death. In her application so very much information was given, the information about his first marriage, the marriage date and place of the second marriage, Titus's physical description. His physical description was given: Hair- Black, Eyes- Black, Complexion- Dark, Height- 5 ft.7 in. This information is in printed records located in the Shelby County, Illinois Genealogical Society. It is known down through the Allen/Gragg line that there is Cherokee Indian Heritage. It is also known that there was a Gragg Family on the 1835 Henderson Cherokee Rolls, they were listed as: Full Blood. Titus Gragg's Father had migrated from Virginia to Georgia, then to Kentucky, then on to Illinois Territory in the very early 1800's.
