  He served 17 consecutive years as a Parkesburg borough councilman;President for 12 years (1928-1939) lived in Parkesburg for 60 years.Was a member of Keystone Lodge No. 569 and the Parkesburg Fire Co.Served as secretary of the Parkesburg Building and Loan Associationfor a number of years.
  Mr. Thomas began his career with the Pennsylvania Railroad Company.He is well remembered as the business manager of the PICo baseballand basketball teams.
  From 1932 to 1948 he operated the Hardware Store which was locatednext to the Farmers Bank Building (1st Ave. & Culvert Streets - wasthe Post office in the 1960s).
