a. Note:   Elizabeth "Betty" M. Jones Apr 17 1920-Jan 22, 2006 Memorial services for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Jones of McMinnville will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in the Chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors. Interment will take place in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Mrs. Jones died at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland on Jan. 22, 2006. She was 85. Born in Portland on April 17, 1920, she was the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Alphozine) McKinley. Raised in Portland, she graduated from Franklin High School in 1938. She married Robert Jones Jr. on Feb. 14, 1941 in Yamhill County. The couple lived in McMinnville until the late '40s, when they relocated to the Parkrose area of Portland. Mrs. Jones moved back to McMinnville in the early 1990s. She enjoyed raising flowers, particularly orchids, and traveling, particularly in Europe, China and Australia. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy King of McMinnville, and two grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilynn Nelson; a brother, Clarence McKinley; and a sister, Jenny Lulay.
