Notes
a. Note:   Joe was a gentleman farmer. He was a very kind man and dabbled with home remedies. His neighbors would call on him in the middle of the night to come help them. He would grab his remedies and hop in his buggy to go tend to the sick. Joe Sr. had Parkinson's disease. They did not have plumbing or refrigeration on their farm. They would keep their food cool by keeping it in a near by cave that had a cool stream running through it. There was no electricity and they used oil lamps to light the house. Water came from a hand pump. Using the Tucker ingenuity, he figured out some kind of irrigation system that piped water into the kitchen from the cave. Aunt Ruby had an old tin-type of Joseph and Emma. Joseph was fair haired and his forehead formed a V. Emma was a very large woman with grey hair and was very rugged looking. He was the bondman for A. Cockrell and Miss L. A. Clark. Their wedding was performed by T. A. Glenn, 10/20/1879. Census: 1860 Federal Census, Louisville, Winston Cty, MS enumerated by B. L. Covington on July 4, 1860.
