The LDS church records list Carl as Earl which is incorrect. He was an accountant for the Boston & Maine Railroad and lived at 141 Orchard St. and 44 Paulina St. Somerville MA. He had Brights Disease and died rather young in Somerville. He was cremated Mt Auburn Cemetery Cambridge MA. Carl Gordon Rideout son of Edward H Rideout Sr. was named after him. To Herbert A Rideout March 2, 2006 You're quite right that Carl C. Rideout was cremated at Mount Auburn Cemetery on 30 October 1927. In December, he was moved to Columbarium 1, Niche 87 in Bigelow Chapel on the Cemetery grounds. According to our records, the inscription on the bronze door of the niche reads, "Carl C. Rideout/ Sept 18, 1876 - Oct 28, 1927." I have not been to the chapel to verify the inscription, but the record I am quoting is the form ordering the inscription to be done.
