Note: Capital Times newspaper - Tuesday, April 11, 1967 OBIT - BLUE MOUNDS - Mrs. Clarence T. Topper, 77, Blue Mounds, who was born in the Town of Primrose in 1890, died early today in a Madison hospital. She was the former Belle Ness. She was married September 14, 1915. Her husband, who died in May 1966, was chairman, clerk and treasurer of the Town of Primrose in the 1920s. In the 1950s, Mr. Topper was chairman of the Town of Middleton, and was secretary of the West Middleton Co-operative. The Toppers moved to Blue Mounds in 1958. Mrs. Topper was a member of the West Blue Mounds Lutheran Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Merlin Schewe, Middleton; a sister, Mrs. John Evanson, Blue Mounds, and three grandchildren. Friends may call at the Gesme-Ellestad Funeral Home, Mt. Horeb, after 3 p.m., Wednesday. Funeral services for Mrs. Topper will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the West Blue Mounds Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Bob Twiton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
