a. Note:   From the book "Look to the Rock....the Urness/Barsness Episode," by Ann Urness Gesme, copyright 1988, p. 361 Mrs. Nelsine B. Carver, 92, widow of a former Hudson minister, died Sunday, March 20, at the Walker Methodist Health Care Center in Minneaplis, after a three months illness. Mrs. Carver was the widow of the late Rev. George R. Carver, former pastor of the Hudson Methodist church from 1940-1946. She was a Hudson resident from 1940 until 1964 when she moved to Walker Methodist Home in Minneapolis. She was born at Black Earth, Wisconsin, one of 12 children and eleven of whom have preceded her in death. Mrs. Carver is survived by one son, George W. Carver of St. Paul; a granddaughter, Jacqueline Davis and one great grandson, Benjamin Davis, both of Pekin, Illilnois; sisters-in-law Mrs. Alyce Barsness of Edgerton, Mrs. Mabel Barsness of Madison, Mrs. Thora Barsness of Black Earth and a brother-in-law James Pledger of Marshall. Funeral services were 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 23 at United Methodist church in Hudson with Rev. Arland C. Averill officiating. During the service Miss Emma V. Engebretson served as soloist and Mrs. James T. Johnston as organist. Interment was in Willow River cemetery.
