Notes
a. Note:   PIONEER WOMAN GONE - 1924
Mrs. A. O. Thompson one of the pioneer women of this territory and City passed to her reward last Thursday, May 15th. Mrs. Thompson had been a sufferer most of the years of her married life and bore her sufferings without complaints and many times looked forward to the day when her Lord would take her away and relieve her body. She had underwent two severe operations in the past few years and never regained her strength.
Anna Christensen was born July 29th, 1846 in Aurland, Sogn, Norway and came to the United States in 1874 stopping in Goodhue Co., Minnesota. In 1880 she came to Dakota and the following year was married to Mr. Andrew O. Thompson. To this union there were born 5 children, all boys, three of which have passed to the Great Beyond. The two remaining sons are Chris who is farming in Minnesota and Ole who is farming in this territory. Both were in attendance with their father at the funeral.
Deceased was a Christian woman and only her physical condition kept her from being an urgent and faithful worker for the Church. She passed to her reward with her mind at perfect ease with her God and bade her loved ones live so that they would meet on the other side of the river.
The funeral was held from the house at one o'clock Monday, May 19th and at the Aurdal Church at 2 o'clock. Rev. M. B. Sveen officiating. The pall bearers were: Ole Holkesvig, John Hovland, J. E. Quam, Hans Krogh, Jacob Tellevik and Nels Studlien.
