a. Note:   Mt. Horeb Mail, March 4, 1937 OBIT - Theodore Topper was born in the town of Blue Mounds, December 1, 1884. He was baptized and confirmed in West Blue Mounds by Rev. Voldahl, and united in marriage September 20, 1907 to Miss Annie Gilbertson. To this union 9 children were born. One, Ruth Bernice, passed away in infancy. He lived at Hollandale for five years and moved to Hillsdale, Barron Co., where he lived for ten years. He was taken to a Madison hospital July 20, 1936, where he stayed until his death, which came on Sunday, February 21, 1937, from pneumonia, at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 19 days. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and eight children: Gilman, Chetek; Mildred (Mrs. Kenneth Thompson) Hillsdale; Hazel (Mrs. Herman Thompson) Chetek; Esther (Mrs. Lyle Siver) Chetek; Ruth (Mrs. William Larson) St. Paul; Marvin, Clifford and Donald at home. Also left to mourn is a sister, Mrs. Mary Luck (sp?) of Spokane, Washington, 4 brothers, Johnnie and Andrew of Lily, Wisconsin, Ole of Blue Mounds and Thorvald of Mt. Horeb, ten grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Olaf and Martin. His funeral took place Friday, February 26, at 1:30 p.m. from the home of his brother Thorwald at Mr. Horeb and at 2:15 from the W. Blue Mounds Lutheran church with burial at Blue Mounds. The Rev. E. R. Anderson officiated. Pallbearers were: Thorwald Topper, Ole Topper, John Topper, Clarence Topper, Gilman Topper and Marvin Topper.
