Notes
a. Note:   Sør-Aurdal - http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/opplandsokn.html#Sor-Aurdal Sør-Aurdal parish records are available on microfilm for the time period 1807-1929. Sør-Aurdal clerical district consists of the parishes Bagn (Sør-Aurdal), with Leirskogen chapel, Reinli, Begndal and Hedal. It included Bruflat parish until 1894 when Bruflat became part of the newly established Etnedal clerical district. Sør-Aurdal clerical district was originally part of the larger Aurdal clerical district, but in 1805 Aurdal clerical district was divided into Nord-Aurdal clerical district and Sør-Aurdal clerical district. Parish records prior to 1805 are listed under Nord-Aurdal clerical district. Note: The parish records for Bruflat parish for 1849-1876 were destroyed during World War II in the spring of 1945. ______________________________________________________ Re: Topper - Rogne - Rogness - Nybraaten

Eidsbakke, I would believe, comes from the parish of Brandbu in the south of Oppland Co.. My family comes from the northern part. Nybraaten is a not too uncommon name in Norway, however there were, and still are, two farms named Nybraaten in ?stre Slidre.
In February 1853, Erick and wife Kari went to minister in Bagn church and announced immigration to U.S. Went with Kari's nephew Gul Syverson Nybraaten and his wife Sigrid. _____________________________________________________ May Check this link for Olea's father Erik Andersen EIDSBAKKATN and her mother Kari Guulsdatter NYBR?TIN in Norway: http://www.slektbase.elsrud.com/people/p00000fb.htm#I9238 It appears from this database that after Erik and Kari were married in 1844, they lived on Kari's parents' farm until they emigrated in 1853.
But at http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=3&fil namn =valdutfl&gardpostnr=2896&merk=2896#ovre it appears that when they emigrated they were living on the Aaseneie farm in the Bagn parish (which is the parish north of Hedalen, where my ancestors come from).
  Best, Jim Bittner
