August 3, 1963 newspaper article: Barneveld Man Hurt in Car-Truck Crash DODGEVILLE - A Barneveld man was injured critically Saturday when his car and a truck collided on Highway H, six miles north of Ridgeway. John Topper, 85, Barneveld, received head and chest injuries when his car and a truck driven by Richard Ivey, 19, Mineral Point, collided. Ivey was not injured. Topper was taken to St. Joseph's hospital here. Capt. Richard Jones of the Iowa Co. traffic police said there was no indication how the accident happened. He and Ivey claimed that Jones left his traffic lane. [Note: Probably should be "He and Ivey claimed that Topper left his traffic lane."]
