  TIMOTHY "TIMMY" FROGUE COLLINS lived in what is now the Stott Funeral Home in Columbia, Adair, Kentucky, USA.
  TIMMY served as Sheriff and operated a jail out of a portion of his home. (Rev. Roger C. Collins) The "new" jail, the third for Adair County, was built on the corner of High and Greensburg Streets. The building is still standing and is being used by the Stotts, Phelps, McQueary Funeral Home. It was from this jail that the FITZPATRICK brothers, CHAMP and RUDE, were carried for execution. They were hanged on the vacant lot behind the jail. In October, 1893, the third Adair County Jail (the funeral home building) was found insufficient for the county. The third jail lasted from 1857-1858 until 1894. ("Looking Back" by Michael C. Watson, 1989, pgs 10-11).
