a. Note:   Beulah Kirk Lakewood
  Beulah M. Kirk, 96, of Lakewood, died at 5:42 p.m. Friday (Dec. 10, 1999) in Shelby Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 14, 1999) in Lockart and Sons Funeral Home, Cowden, with visitation two hours before services. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Memorials may be given to the Lakewood United Methodist Church or the Gideons. She was born Nov. 19, 1903, in Lakewood, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Barton Askins. She married Leotis Moore Kirk in 1944 and he died July 31, 1975. Surviving are a son, James Kirk and wife Sue of Cowden; sisters, Flossie Blauth of Tower Hill and Mary McDermith of Arlington, Va.; grandchildren, Catherine Mathias and James Le Kirk; and great-grandchildren, Brock and Anna Mathias. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Askins and a sister, Mabel Askins. Mrs. Kirk attended and taught Sunday School at the Lakewood United Methodist Church for many years.
