a. Note:   Roy E. Elduen of Redmond died Oct. 31, 2005, at Nehalem Valley Care Center in Wheeler, Ore. He was 89.
  Mr. Elduen was born March 18, 1916, in Redmond. He graduated from Redmond High School in 1934 and attended the University of Washington and took course in metallurgy. He married Marjorie Connor on Feb. 9, 1958, in Seattle. He was employed as a welder and worked at the Lake Washington Shipyards in Kirkland during World War II, later at the Hanford nuclear plant, the Chief Joseph Dam and Marco Steel in Seattle. He retired in 1978.
  Mr. Elduen was a member of the boilermakers Union Local 104 and the Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society Lodge 1 of Seattle.
  He was an expert ``handyman,'' making wrought iron railings and trim. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, horseshoes, pool, pinochle and traveling.
  His wife died in July 2003 in Redmond.
  Survivors include his daughters, Lorraine Simpers of Spanaway and Ruth Taylor of Nehalem; and one grandson.
  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue.
  Arrangements are by Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Bellevue
