a. Note:   Jennie Mae Askins, 87, of Shelbyville, died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday (June 14, 2000) in the Shelbyville Manor.
  Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in Lockart and Sons Funeral Home, Shelbyville, officiated by Gary Ogden. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery , Shelbyville.
  She was born March 25, 1913, in Fayette County, the daughter of Leotis and Alice Cooper Hackney. She married Orville Allen Robertson in 1933, and he died in 1937. She married Harold A. Askins in 1939 and he survives.
  Also surviving are a son, Bobbie Robertson and wife Doris of Westervelt; daughter, Dolores Jean Donald and husband David of Shelbyville; sister Irene McDonald and husband Wayne of Lakewood; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul; sisters, Beulah and Grace; and grandsons, David Donald, Brad Donald, and Greg Robertson.
  Mrs. Askins worked for several years as a nurses aid and for hospice. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
