  Mrs R.E. Prater Succumbs
  Colfax Matron who crossed plains at age of 9, victim of influenza. Mrs. Minne E. Prater, 61, widow of Robert E. Prater died early Tuesday evening of influenza and complications at St. Ignatius Hospital, where she had been a patient after her removal Sunday from her home at W. 106 Thorn St. She had been in failing health for several years.
  Mrs. Prater was born in Kansas, and crossed the plains by wagon at the age of nine years with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Askins who homesteaded several miles south of Colfax. After her marriage to Mr. Prater, October 31, 1891, she lived on a farm four miles from Albion. The family moved to Colfax 18 years ago and Mr. Prater died here in May, last year.
  Funeral Services were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church, Rev. E.C. Newham officiating. Internment was in the Colfax Cemetery.
  Mrs Prater is survived by two sons, Wiley, Palouse and Orval, Colfax; two daughters, Mrs Leora Culbertson, Moscow and Mrs. Maggie Young, Kellogg, Idaho and a sister Mrs. Maggie Kinzer, Albion.
