Notes
a. Note:   H1076
Note:   RED CLIFF, Colo., May 13.- A telephone message was received from Gilman at 7 o'clock this evening stating that Oscar Dutton and Joe Miller, who left this city this afternoon for their home at Edwards, were thrown over the cliff at Hole in the Rock, a dangerous piece of road about two miles west of Gilman. Dutton was killed and Miller severely bruised. After the accident Miller was able to go to Gilman for help, and when he returned he found Dutton dead. Sheriff Crumley and Undertaker Smith left immediately for the scene and will bring the body to this city. Oscar Dutton was about 60 years of age and a prominent citizen of Eagle county, where he had resided for the past fifteen years, and was at the time of his death a mail carrier. Mr. Dutton was an old soldier and a member of James A. Garfield Post No. 9 G.A.R. of Leadville.
