Note: A. Charles Jacquot Jr., 70 Posted: Friday, Apr 10, 2009 - 09:30:25 am PDT A. Charles Jacquot Jr., 70, passed away peacefully from cancer at his home in Roseburg, Ore., April 4, 2009. He was born in Colfax, Wash., June 25, 1938, to Arthur Charles Jacquot Sr. and Elizabeth May (Colpitts) Jacquot. Charles lived in Pullman, Wash., Logan, Utah, Wenatchee and Okanogan, Wash., with his family. He was 12 when the family moved to Rathdrum, Idaho. Charles graduated from Rathdrum High School, North Idaho Collage and Eastern Washington University. Charles taught school for three years in Spirit Lake, Idaho, one year in the Roseburg schools and 30 years in the Glide Schools. His career covered grades 4-8. He also coached basketball, track and cross country in the middle school. Charles was awarded the honor of Oregon Science Teacher of the year by OMSI in the early 1970s. In the summers he worked on the family farm near Hayden, Idaho. He enjoyed cooking, watching basketball and football, his family and played racquetball at the YMCA. On May 29, 1959, he married Bette Barnum in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Jacquot of Hayden, Idaho; his wife Bette; two sons: David Charles Jacquot (Ann) of Priest River, Idaho, and John Edwin Jacquot (Julie) of Milwaukee, Ore.; three grandchildren Nicolas David Jacquot of Florida, Maya Gloria Jacquot and Nathan Charles Jacquot of Priest River; three brothers Elmer Jacquot (Helen) of Spokane Valley, Wash., Edward Jacquot (Marlene) of Roseburg, Ore., and Richard Jacquot (Carol) and one sister Emily Bakie (Vern) of Klamath Falls, Ore.; four nieces Susan Corder, Sandra Jacquot, Jena Mills and Cindy AlHarbi; five nephews Steven and Mike Jacquot, Brian Bakie, John and Gary Reed and many great nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Charles will be buried in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. If you wish, the family would like donations made to the Community Cancer Foundation, 545 Harvard Ave., Roseburg, OR 97471 or to the Glide High School Scholarship Fund, 18990 N. Umpqua Hwy Glide, OR 97443 in Charles's memory. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will also be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 11, 2009, at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Riverview Cemetery, Coeur d'Alene.
