  Knox Co. OH marriage records. Five of William's children are named in the Shelby Co. IL Circuit Court in 1860 in Petitio n for Partition, each of them entitled to 1/5 of 1/9 of Reuben's estate: John W., Abram Jr. , Wheeler, Elizabeth, and Janett. Are these the only ones living at that time? 1830 Knox Co. OH census, Bloomfield Twp, shows 1 male 20-30, 1 female 20-30; 1 male under 5 a nd 1 female under 5. 1840 IN census (including Twp of Decatur, p 427) lists Wm. Askins with a male and a female 30 -40, a male and female 10-15, a male and female 5-10, and 2 males under 5. 1850 Decatur Co. IN census (house #43, p 3b in Clinton Twp) lists William Askins 46 VA; Ann a 46 OH; elizabeth 20 OH; Janette 16 OH; David W. 14 IN; Joseph J. 8 IN; and Sarah 5 IN. Nea rby was Abram Askins 20 OH and his wife Polly 20 IN.
