Note: Lewis moved to Port Clinton in 1861 and worked as a blacksmith. In 1870 he moved to Ryan Township, Schuylkill County, working for the Catawissa Railroad as a car inspector at Tamaqua, PA. In 1875 he worked as a baggagemaster at East Mahoney Junction, PA. He retired from the railroad in 1880. He then worked as a farmer and postmaster of Barnesville. His death certificate lists him as a general store merchant.
