Note: A native Barnesville, PA., Samuel was a practicing physician and surgeon for fifty years. He was a graduate of Keystone Normal School at Kutztown. For five years he worked as a teacher in Ryan and Rush Townships. In 1894 he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a degree in medicine. He then moved to Wilkes-Barre and became a noted physician.
