Frank A. `Pappy` Mengel, 71, of Pen Argyl, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Eloise V. (Bellis) Mengel for 49 years.
He worked as a lab technician for Asbury Graphite, Bethlehem, before retiring in 1990. Prior to that he was a department supervisor for Weller Electric, formerly Palmer Township.
From 1964 until his death, he was a custodian at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pen Argyl.
He was a member of St. John's.
Survivors: Wife; son, LeRoy G. of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Pamela M. Kline of Lakeville, Wayne County, and Melissa M. Walter of Lancaster; sisters, Ruth Klein of Easton, Martha Cornelius of Martins Creek, and Chris Speelman of Titusville, Crawford County; brothers, Lester of Easton, and Wilmer of Summerfield, Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
