Watry "Dick" Mr. Richard Watry age 75 of Belgium, went home to the Lord Sunday evening, April 27, 2003, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 19, 1927, to Jac and Margaret Lesch Watry at their home in Dacada. Richard married Kathryn Goschey on May 22, 1948, in Holy Cross, and the couple made their home in Belgium. Together, Richard and Kathryn had seven children and a wonderful marriage which ended with Kathryn’s death on October 20, 1987. Richard was a carpenter, who owned and operated D.W. Construction until he retired. He was a WWII Army veteran, and a member of American Legion Post 412 of Belgium and VFW Post 5373. Richard was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lake Church for over 50 years. Richard found love again and married Dorie Croatt on August 7, 1992. They started their life together and resided in Belgium, where together they enjoyed their 11 children, 28 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife Dorie, son Robert (Jane) Watry, grandchildren Tech Sgt. Stephan (Crystal) Watry, Capt. Michelle Watry, Jennifer Watry and 2nd Lt. Kevin Watry; daughter Diane (John) Ruschak, grandchildren Brian (Amy) Ruschak and Pamela (Brandon) Chevillet, great-grandchildren Harrison, Grant and Madison Ruschak; son David (Karen) Watry, grandchildren Scott (Emily) Watry, Jill (John) Kastner, Michael (Elizabeth) Watry, and Joy Watry, great-grandchildren Julia Kastner, Caldin and Kaycey Watry; daughter Debora (Al) Martinez, grandchildren Mark (Kari) Martinez, Paul Martinez and Dawn Martinez; son Wayne’s wife Karen Watry, grandchildren Kyle, Lyndsey, Lauren and Sarah Watry; daughter Joyce (Randal) Dieck, grandchildren Kathryn and James Dieck, and daughter Lisa Watry. Richard is further survived by his step family; son Jeffrey (Cathy) Croatt, grandchildren Andy, Ben, and Megan Croatt; daughter Judy (Guy) Theune, grandchildren Kurt, Rachel, and Eric Theune; daughter Sandy (Dave) Pfeiffer; and son Tom (Kaye) Croatt, grandchildren Jason and Amy Croatt. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Jake and Margaret Watry, his beloved wife Kathryn, son Wayne, and siblings Agnes Egerer, Gene and Ralph Watry. A Mass Of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday April 30, 2003, 7:30 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Church, with Father Jim Vojtik and Father Jim Ernster concelebrating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium on Wednesday April 30 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
