  On September 12, 1918, Jacob Watry had to fill out and sign a World War draft registration card: <a href="https://goo.gl/photos/wMmJEVgQW1TL32Fm8">Photo</a>
  That document shows his year of birth as 1899, while other sources state 1898.
  The 1920 U.S. census had an effective date of January first. Jacob's home was enumerated January twenty ninth. The census page shows 21 year old Jacob living with his parents and younger siblings in Belgium. Jacob was a farm laborer.

  The 1930 U.S. census had an effective date of April first. The Jacob Watry home was enumerated April eighth or ninth. The census page shows Jac, 30 his wife Margaret, 29 and children Agnes, 6; Eugene, 4; Richard, 2; Walter, 1; and Delores, a newborn. The family lived on a farm in Belgium, Wisconsin. On the same census page, the Charles Schmidt family was listed. Jac Watry's future grandson, Robert Watry, would later marry Charles Schmidt's future granddaughter, Jane Schmidt.

  The 1940 U.S. census had an effective date of April first. The Jacob Watry home was enumerated April twenth fourth. The census page shows "Jac", 41, a farmer; Margaret, 38; and 11 children, including 12 year old Richard. They still lived in Belgium.
  After Jac retired, the couple moved to Dacada, Wisconsin.
