  The 1910 U.S. census had an effective date of April fifteenth. The Lindsey home was enumerated April eighteenth. The census page shows Lenious H., 32; his wife Elsie M., 24; and children Leona M., 6; and Pauline, six months of age. The family lived in Los Angeles County, California.   The 1920 U.S. census had an effective date of January first. The Lindsey home was enumerated January twelfth. The census page shows Lenious H., 42; Elsie M., 33; and children Leona M., 15; Pauline D., 10; Ruth D., 6; Thelma G., 2 and a half; and Clarence E., a one-year-old.   The 1930 U.S. census had an effective date of April first. The Lindsey family was enumerated April seventh. The census page shows Lenious H., 53; Elsie M., 43; and children Ruth, 16; Thelma G., 12; and Clarence E., 11. They lived at 610 W. 10th Street, in Claremont, Los Angeles County, California.   The 1940 U.S. census had an effective date of April first. The Lindsey family was enumerated April twenty ninth. The census page shows Lenious, 62; Elsie May, 64; their 22 year old daughter Thelma; and her three year old son. The lived at 201 N. Oberlin Avenue, in Claremont.   On April 27, 1942, at the age of 64, Lenious signed a World War 2 draft registration card. Lenious and these other 45 to 64 year old men were not going to get called for military service. The purpose of the registration was to document the mens' skills for possible use in the United States, later in the war. If Lenious had been born six days earlier than he was, he would not have had to sign a card, because he would have been too old.
