Notes
a. Note:   Notes for Margaret Ellen Fitzgerald O'Connor: She was listed in the 1861 Census of England, Wales, and Scotland, where her name was written as "Margt Fitsgerald". That census was taken on the night of April seventh. She was listed as being born in the town she currently lived in, and her age was listed as nine. Margaret's father had died before this census was taken, since Margaret's mother Alice was listed as a widow in this census.
The family's geographical location was in the registration district of Cardiff, in the sub district of 4 Llantrisaint. That was in the civil parish of Llantwitvardre, in the county of Glamorgan, in Wales. They were also listed as being in the ecclesiastical parish of Glyntaff. This is the same small town where Margaret's future husband Stephen Connors lived. So the future couple probably knew each other as children.
The likely reason the Fitzgerald family moved from Ireland to Wales was the Irish potato famine, which lasted from 1845 to 1852.
